ARMAGEDDON
2007....The year ended with a bang........year which has seen block-busters such as Guru, Partner , Chak de India ,JWM ,OSO and this list is not endless .The year was signed off beautifully with TZP.....
Applause; applause, applause ........all for a sensitive film, an original concept and stupendous direction........Cheers to the debut of a new league of cinema that wades even the” waters of sensitivity”.
So as the gospel says HOPE NEVER DISAPPOINTS......someone has dared to tread softly on the road less traveled.......The End of days is near.....so finally light dawns on the new age directors to fish in troubled waters ......or so to say in living waters. But the point is......we are overlooking a complex issue. Let’s enlist a few films made for children under the label of KID’S ENTERTAINMENT.....Mr. India, Krish, Koi mil Gaya, Blue umbrella, Makdee, hanuman, even Hanuman returns. Now this list extends to infinity. Among the numerous films made FOR children there are hardly any which are made ABOUT children......so at this point TZP takes the cake. The good news is that it's time now for some sensitive movies combing delicate issues.
But the bad news according to the gospel is that NO MOVIE MAKER HAS YET BEEN ABLE TO TOUCH THE EXTREMELY FRAGILE TOPIC OF TEEENAGE PSHYCOLOGY. The reason is simple; it comes with a statutory warning which says HANDLE WITH CARE. I know SENSITIVITY and SUBTELTY is the Bermuda Triangle of Bollywood but then there’s always a first time for everything. Innumerable film makers have dived into the oceanic world of child entertainment...but dear friends its time to learn a lesson from TZP, it’s a mutiny in itself. With teenage crime increasing at an alarming rate, its time now to look a little further……… look into ADOLESCENCE. It’s time now to explore TEEN psyche, peep into the mind of a teenager.
Can some Karan Johar,, some Ashutosh Govarikar, Some Mahesh Bhatt dare to bear this task of making a sequel of TZP........with Darsheel as a 13-14 yr old boy...Enough of K3Gs and KANKS, enough of period movies, enough of films on relationships. These are mere commercial flips.
Can we now have the spotlight on teenage psychology? Or rather can we ever have a mighty Khan or a majestic Roshan make a film on the puerile mind of a teenager before Dooms day at least? Libraries are teeming with millions of books on the study of callow minds, zillions of articles are published and research is done..........for that matter even church sermon includes it...but the idea is to reach out to people as TZP did. It's time for E-Enlightment.its time for some Amole Gupte to get creative again….After all...

FILLED WITH GREEN AND GROWING THINGS,
MINE IS SERE,
THROUGHOUT THE YEAR,
TIME TO START SOWING HERE......"
